Pest Control
1. Are the chemicals you use harmful to humans?
The chemicals we use have been manufactured and
reduced to levels that are safe to use around children, pets, and
adults. Their potency however, is still strong enough to kill pests
and insects.
2. Do you guarantee you work?
We stand behind our work. Should a problem arise
within 60 days of the performed service, we’ll re-treat for no additional
charge, completely hassle-free. Quarterly customers receive year-round
protection.
3. How long does a treatment last?
One pest control treatment lasts 60-90 days, depending
on the species of insect. This is why quarterly treatments are recommended.
4. Why doesn’t over –the- counter ant spray work?
Over-the-counter pesticides will only kill the
ants you spray and those ants represent only a fraction of the colony.
If the colony is not destroyed, ants will continue to return. In order
to successfully control the infestation, the type of ant must be identified
first. Then a trained professional can locate then source and apply
the necessary treatment.
5. How can I rid my house of silverfish?
Silverfish are extremely difficult to control without
the assistance of a professional. Since they prefer warm moist places,
such as attics and crawlspaces, try to reduce the humidity in your
home to less than 50%.
Termites
1. Do termites attack new buildings?
Termites
have been found in buildings as early as four
days after construction. Although precautions can
be taken during constructions, any structure made of wood or partial
wood is
subject to termite infestation.
2. What should I do if I think I have termites?
Call Us! Circle S Termite and Pest Control offers
free termite inspections and treatment estimations.
3. What is a WDI inspection?
A WDI inspection is a visual inspection
of a home or building in order to determine the presence or absence
of any wood destroying insects.
The inspection covers those areas where infestation
is most likely to occur, both the inside and outside of the property.
There are five of
these insects most prominent in Texas including:
Termites, Carpenter Ants, Carpenter Bees, Powder-Post Beetles, and Borer
Beetles.
The inspection does not cover areas where objects must be removed or
taken apart. For that reason, the report is not a warranty or structural
damage report, however early detection can eliminate costly problems
down the road.
4. How can I tell if I have a termite
problem?
Since termites work from the inside out, you may
not be aware of the infestation until it’s too late. There are however,
some visible signs to look for when trying to determine if you do or
don’t have termites. For example, subterranean termites build mud tubes
through foundation cracks, on the surface of walls, and alongside pluming
pipes. They use these tubes as passageways to search for food and travel
to and from the soil. Other signs include large swarms and damaged or
blistered wood.
Despite these signs, the only way you can be certain
of your termite situation is to have it inspected by a professional.
Even if not termites were found, you will experience peace of mind in
knowing your home is not being destroyed.
5. How long does a subterranean termite treatment maintain its effectiveness?
There are many factors that can affect the longevity
of termite treatments including: weather conditions, the type of soil,
or physical disturbance of the treatment site. Ideally, treatments
can last for several years, but the area must be regularly monitored
to make sure active infestations are being effectively controlled.
